Ravens earn first victory at curling nationals
The Carleton Ravens men’s curling team picked up its first victory at the 2012 CIS/Canadian Curling Association national championships Thursday night, defeating the Acadia Axemen 8-5.
The young Ravens team is now 1-3 after falling 9-4 to the Alberta Golden Bears in its opening draw on Wednesday night and losing its first two draws on Thursday, 6-5 to the host Brock Badgers in an extra end and 8-5 to the Manitoba Bisons.
The Ravens will face the Waterloo Warriors in a rematch of the OUA final tomorrow at 11 a.m. before taking on the Winnipeg Wesmen at 4 p.m.
