Competitive Clubs at Carleton University

Figure Skating

The Figure Skating Competitive Club is entering its eleventh season of competition.  The team was founded in 2002 by one skater representing Carleton.  The season starts in early September and runs till the end of March.

The competitive team is looking for the following:
- Freeskate – must have passed your Jr. Silver Freeskate
- Dance – must have passed your Jr. Silver Dances
- Synchro – anyone with any interest in skating synchro

The recreational team is open to all skaters.

If you are looking for a more competitive synchronized skating team, please email us as we have all the contacts for the synchro teams in the Ottawa area and can direct you to the appropriate team.

Team Meeting:

Monday, Sept. 12th, 2011 at 8 p.m. at the Carleton Ice House Meeting Room.

This team meeting is for all new and returning skaters.  If you are unable to make the meeting because of a class please email us at carleton.figure.skating@gmail.com.

Tryouts for the Competitive Team:

Tuesday, Sept. 14th, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 15th, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Thursday Sept. 16th, 7:00 – 8:30 a.m.

A signup sheet for a tryout time will be available at the team meeting on Monday, Sept. 12th.  Varsity skaters compete in freeskate, similar pairs, solo dance, similar dance and synchronized skating.  We are looking for skaters for the competitive team with at least one Jr. Silver Test passed.
