Kewin named second team all-Canadian
Following a strong season on the pitch, Carleton University Ravens men’s soccer player, Joey Kewin (London, Ont.), was honoured as a member of the second all-Canadian team, the CIS announced Nov. 9.
A third year midfielder, Kewin made a big impact offensively for the Ravens. He was fourth in team scoring with five goals and earned a spot on the OUA East first all-star team for the second consecutive year.
“It’s always gratifying for a Carleton soccer player to make an all-Canadian team,” says Ravens head coach Sandy Mackie. “It’s indicative of how the team played and [Kewin] was an integral part of the team.”
With Kewin’s help, the Ravens finished the 2011-12 season with an 11-3 record for first in the OUA East and were ranked in six of the eight CIS top 10 polls, peaking at the No. 3 position.
