2009-2010 Swimming Preview
Since taking over the reins of the Carleton University Swimming program John Hawes, Claudia Cronin-Schlote and the Roc Swimming Club have made a tremendous difference in the results of the Ravens swimmers at the OUA Championship. Under their leadership all Carleton student-athletes are members of both programs and with the excellent facilities at Carleton’s Ravens’ Pool, the team’s standing in the OUA rises each year.
Last year the Men finished with 15 points and the Women with 45.5 at the OUA Championships. Twelve different student-athletes swam their best time at the Championships, led by Chris Flynn, with a 7th Place finish in the 50 meter Freestyle with a time of 24.36. Also of note was the Women’s 4×50 meter Freestyle relay team (Erika Frissen, Karli McKinon, Carolyn Smith & Rachel Gardner) who finished with a 10th Place finish and a time of 1:54.11.
