Carleton Ravens Women’s Swim Team earns 133.5 Points, at 2008 OUA Championships, in Toronto, Ontario.
The Carleton University Ravens Women’s Swim team earned 133.5 points at the 2008 OUA Swim Championships, held in Toronto, Ontario, by the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
The varsity squad had a very successful meet this past weekend. The team achieved an overall best time percentage of over 85% when compared to previous lifetime best times. This is a great step forward for the team and shows once again that hard work pays off.
Leading the way was our very own ROC Swim Club “Bronze Group” coach Heather Macdonald, Edson, Alberta who finaled in all three of her breaststroke events finishing 4th in the 50 in this strong Ontario field.
Gillian Carr swam to an incredible best time in her 50 back of 1:26.57. This time qualifies Gillian for the Paralympic Trials to be held in Montreal in April, 2008. Rachael Gardner also made finals in the 200 fly placing 8th in that event.
Other swimmers who had finals swims (top 16) were Erika Friesen(100 free) and Karli MacKinnon(100 free and 100 fly).
