Do It For Daron at the Ice House this weekend
The Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team will not only be lacing up to battle the Concordia Stingers on Saturday, Feb. 4, but also to honour Daron Richardson, a competitive hockey player who tragically took her own life and brought awareness to the seriousness of youth mental health.
Daughter of former NHL hockey player and Ottawa Senators assistant coach, Luke Richardson, Daron died on November 13, 2010 at just 14 years of age.
Daron’s legacy now lives on through the Daron Richardson Fund and Do It For Daron, a youth-driven program focused on raising awareness and inspiring conversations about youth mental health.
In support of the cause, fans can purchase D.I.F.D. merchandise and sweets from a bake sale starting at 6 p.m. There will also be a raffle for an autographed prize and a $50 Campus Card gift certificate. Proceeds go towards D.I.F.D. and the Daron Richardson Fund.
Bruce MacDonald, Daron’s former coach and the father of Raven Kristen MacDonald, will drop the puck after a special pre-game ceremony.
Get all the details on our Facebook event page and let us know you’re coming.
