Shelley CoolidgeHead CoachCoolidge enters her fourth season behind the Ravens bench after spending six seasons as head coach of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, where she led her team to four CIS National Championship appearances. In 2004, she was named the QSSF Coach of the Year and led her team to the national championship final game against the University of Alberta Pandas. Coolidge was Team Canada’s assistant coach at the inaugural World University Games. Team Canada defeated the host Chinese team, 3-1, to capture the first ever women’s hockey FISU Gold Medal. She is also a former manager of the Female Hockey Development program at Hockey Canada and a past-president of the CIS Women’s Hockey Coaching Association. Coolidge was selected as a mentor coach for the IIHF Female Hockey Development Program. She spend two weeks in Verimaki, Finland, collaborating with female hockey leaders to better the skills of international coaches and athletes. Coolidge is currently completing her thesis to earn her NCCP coaching certification license “Advanced II” and has begun her NCCP Theory Level 4 courses. Miguel FiliatraultAssistant CoachFiliatrault has been coaching and scouting in the CIS since 2005. Born in North Bay, Ont. but raised in Ottawa, Filiatrault began coaching at the age of 16 with the National Capital Competitive Program Peewee AA team and went on to coach at the Bantam AA, Midget AA and Intermediate AA levels. He has earned his High Performance 1 certification. As a player, Filiatrault competed in the Air Canada Cup Midget National Championship (now the Telus Cup). |

Julie HealyMentor CoachHealy is highly qualified with two Olympic goal medals in 2006 and 2010, as well as two IIHF Women’s World Championship titles in 2004 and 2007 as the former Director of Female Hockey with Hockey Canada. In 2010, Healy directed the Under 18 and Under 22 teams to gold at the world championship level. She also received gold as an assistant coach with Team Canada in 1996. The Ravens are Healy’s third affiliation with a CIS team. She was an assistant coach for Concordia University when they were the top team in the CIS, and head coach at the University of Calgary. As a current member of the Canadian Olympic Committee, Healy’s experience and expertise will help develop Carleton’s team. |

Tom DempseyGoalie CoachTom is in his seventh year as the goalie coach of the Ravens women’s varsity hockey team. He is also the goalie coach of the Ravens men’s varsity hockey team and the Ottawa 67′s of the Ontario Hockey League. |

Hassan SaeedFitness MentorIn addition to being the Ravens fitness mentor, Saeed is completing his Masters in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, where he also serves as the strength and conditioning coach for five of the university’s varsity sport programs. Saeed boasts an impressive resume that includes: • Experience with local pro and amateur athletes (NHL, OHL, NCAA, CIS, CJHL). He has also spent some time with Hockey Canada’s U18 and U22 Strength and Conditioning Camps as an apprentice coach, as well as with the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers. |

Kim ThompsonMental Skills ConsultantThompson brings a wealth of experience to the Carleton program, having captured gold with Team Canada’s Under 18 squad, Team Ontario and the Canadian World University Games team. She also qualified for CIS nationals in four of her six seasons with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. |

Beth Mansfield, MSC, RDSport NutritionistMansfield is a Registered Dietitian, CSEP-Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and sport nutrition specialist. She has a Masters degree in the combined fields of clinical nutrition, exercise physiology and lipid biochemistry. She is a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology certified exercise physiologist and an American College of Sports Medicine fitness instructor and personal trainer. Mansfield also studied in Agricultural Sciences and has a degree in Animal Science, specializing in animal nutrition. Beth is currently working on her PhD at McGill University, focusing on health and nutritional well-being of Canadian women runners. Mansfield integrates sport nutrition into training programs for teams and athletes competing at the international, national, provincial, regional levels. She also applies training principles developed for sport performance to business executives and workplace wellness programs in both governmental and NGO sectors. Mansfield runs nutrition, weight management and sport nutrition workshops through the Heart Health Education Centre of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She also develops sport nutrition and conditioning programs for the “equine athlete.” She writes about sport nutrition for irun magazine, the running magazine available at all Running Room stores throughout Canada and has a regular television segment the first Wednesday of every month with Leanne Cusack on the CTV News at Noon. |

Susannah JuteauNutrition InternJuteau is a Registered Dietician with a background in neuroscience. She has a Masters degree from McGill University and specializes in sports nutrition, weight loss and early years’ nutrition. She is currently working at the Centretown Community Health Centre as a community dietician which involves clinical work, running programs, cooking workshops and nutrition presentations. With her free time she is either playing sports or helping athletes with their nutrition practices. Juteau competed in four national ringette championships. She is also an active cross-country skier and dragon boat paddler and plays on volleyball, ultimate, hockey and soccer teams. Susannah was luckily able to intern with Beth Mansfield where she started working with the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey and basketball teams. That experience has led to helping out many other teams such as Hockey Atlantic. She also stays involved and up to date by giving Peak Performance Powerfuel sport nutrition seminars or individual counselling to athletes and sports teams. |
