Royal Military College Paladins defeat Carleton Ravens Women's Soccer team, 2-1, in Kingston, Ontario.

The Royal Military College Paladins defeated the Carleton University Ravens, 2-1, in OUA East regular season action, in Kingston, Ontario. The Ravens record falls to 6-7-2 for 20-team points. The Ravens currently sit in 4th Place in the OUA East but with only one match remaining, the possibility of finishing in 5th Place could happen as the Nipissing Lakers trail Carleton by 5-points in the standings with three league matches to play.
The Paladins came out strong and opened the scoring 7 minutes into the match on a goal by Laura Gray. RMC held Carleton off the scoreboard as their goalkeeper Olivia Clarke made the necessary saves to see Gray’s goal stand up at halftime.
In the second half, Carleton started to put pressure on the Paladins defense and their hard work paid off at the 60th minute, as veteran midfielder, Aisha Stinson, Ottawa, Ontario tied the match with her third goal of the 2009 campaign. Carleton would keep the pressure on RMC and would score again but the referee disallowed the goal with no reason given. RMC then created one of their few opportunities in the second half and the referee awarded a penalty shot to the home team off this opportunity, at the 65th minute of play. Samantha Beckett scored on the Penalty Kick, for the Paladins, beating the Ravens goalkeeper Anna Morsky, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Rachel Bedek, St. Thomas, Ontario and Morsky split the match in the Ravens net both played well despite the loss.
Carleton had several opportunities late in the match but Clarke and the RMC defense held Carleton in check to earn the victory over the Ravens.
